Want to see the future of the car cockpit? The X-Wave concept is a showcase for the latest thinking on vehicle interiors from automotive supplier Visteon and technology giant 3M. They’ve teamed up to fit out a BMW X5 – dubbed X-Wave – with new lighting and control interfaces that could revolutionise the look and operation of cars over the next few years.
The Vauxhall Cascada – Vauxhall’s new four-seat convertible – will cost from £23,995 and arrives in Vauxhall showrooms in April 2013. Starting at £23,995 for the Cascada SE with the 1.4 litre petrol and rising to £29,115 for the Cascada Elite with a 2.0 litre diesel and auto ‘box, the Cascada certainly offers a lot of full-size convertible for the money. There are just two trim levels available – Cascada SE and Cascada Elite – with the SE coming with 18″ alloys, LED tail lights, DAB, rear parking sensors and USB, The Elite adds in stuff like leather, heated seats, Climate and steering wheel and fog lights.
Mercedes-Benz is recalling the M-class SUV from the 2000 to 2004 model years to fix a problem with the cruise-control system. In a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Mercedes said the cruise control may not disengage when the driver steps on the brake pedal, which could lead to a crash. Mercedes says the system can still be shut off by using the cruise-control stalk or by pumping the brake pedal.
